Abusive Family Research Paper

When I was growing up there was one thing I wanted to have the most a family. I come from a single parent house hold a product of an abusive teenage marriage. All I knew as I was growing older is exactly what type of life I did not want for myself. I knew I did not want to be put into the same situations as my parents were both put in, throughout the course of their lives. My success did not come easily I had to work hard. I had to sacrifice things that normal people do not. Such as being an employed teen. While my friends were having fun and were at home I was working a full time retail job. I did not want to at all but all my friends convinced me. While I was there I meant a guy named Jose. I was historically the worst dater and girlfriend a guy could ever have I usually lost interest within a week. There was something different about him it was not just the cow boy hat and boots, he was respectful. Jose and I exchanged numbers, we talked once that week. I saw Jose about two weeks later with friends we all had a great time. I thought I had just made another friend since I was a disaster at dating. One night we hung out and it all changed because he kissed me. It was the weirdest feeling I had ever felt in my life. It was literal sparks, I thought it had to be only me. It was both of us that night he called me when he got home to profess his love for me. I thought it was sweet I said “Thank you” and that was it. I realized I want to say the same thing that was so easy for him to express. I did not know why it was so hard for me. When I look back into my life though it is not hard for me to see why I was so closed off. I still did not want to turn into my parents, my fear was holding me back. I did eventually tell him. He was so surprised and happy you would think he was a kid on Christmas morning. Having a family is not easy, your constantly busy you’re always trying your hardest and that’s all you can do. My biggest success in my life is fulfilling this goal of mine and having the family that I had always dreamed of. Being able to get myself back into college, to be able to have financial stability to support my family and work full time is a blessing. To some this may not be the success they would expect from me but to be it’s the biggest accomplishment I could
