People with low self-control are more likely to be a risk - taker and do things against the law. People with low self-control don’t know how to control their temper very well, so they don’t know when to stop encouraging the conflict. When people want to keep arguing it doesn’t help them calm down, it makes their temper worse than what it was. When their temper reaches a point their low self- control start becoming a threat to the officer. Police are not abusing their power towards the people, they are defending themselves.

If someone is threatening them they will defend themselves, just like every other human would do. Police officers are also human. People think that if someone is killed by a police officer it was an act of racism. They think police officers are doing it out of disrespect, and not doing it to protect the people. “Black men dying at the hands of police had become “a slow-rolling crisis” in America, as President Obama would put it nine days after Gray’s death. And Freddie Gray was a black man who entered a police van handcuffed and conscious on April 12 and came out less than an hour later comatose, with his spinal cord nearly severed.” (Von Drehle 36) A lot of people assume that when an African- American person is killed by a police officer it is done because they are racist, but that is not true, it is because they weren’t following the law and the officer felt threatened. If the police feel like they are being threatened they will defend themselves and anyone else that might be in
