It is defined as non-consensual sexual contact of any kind with an elderly person. Sexual contact with any person incapable of giving consent is also considered sexual abuse. There are some immediate reactions that can occur when some undergoes sexual abuse and those can include shock and fear or disbelief. Long term symptoms can include anxiety, fear, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Signs that someone is being sexual abused are bruising around the genital areas, if there are any unexplained genital infections or venereal diseases, and lastly if a person 's underclothing is torn, ripped, or bloody.
