To begin, the song seems like a love song because of the lyrics. Sting, lead singer of The Police, states,” Every breath you take. Every move you make. Every bond you break. Every step you take. I’ll be watching you”(Police, 1). Listeners think that this is love; someone loves another so much that they will go to the extent of watching them do everything they do. They also tend to think that the message is to love someone as much as possible. Never forgot about them. As a result, they just listen to the music rather than act different after listening to it.
