Abuse And Effects Of Aging: A Part Of Life

Lying there on the bed scared,and alone. Waiting for someone. Waiting to see if they will live another day. Aging is an reality we have in the world. Old age, and abuse is a horrible issue for families; we need to assist organizations to help them out. Aging is a part of life. I found many definitions of aging. One of them is “the length of time during which a being or thing has existed; length of life or existence to the time spoken of or referred to”(Aging). Elders take major health and social systems. Also person who is older or higher in rank than oneself. The sad thing is there is more problems of aging that there is abuse. “As the age gets higher the more they need health care because of diseases and illnesses. ” Elders need safe and friendly environment. They weaken fast has years go on. The effects of aging can be long lasting. They feel lonely without their spouse or friends. Health insurance is high. They sometimes get rejected from nursing homes because they are too hard to handle (Nursing house). These effects are horrible to hear. The statistics support that this issue is a problem area.Over 60 years old will double from 2015 to 12% and 2050 to 22% (Aging). In 2020 ages will outnumber children five and younger(Aging). By 2050 80% will live in low-and middle- income countries. There are several causes of abuse to the elders. “The abuse to elders are physical, emotional, sexual, neglect or abandonment by a caregiver, financial, healthcare fraud and also disease. More vulnerable to theses abuse cannot help themselves. At least 1 in 10 get abused every month.” Higher abuse rate in institutions than community. The effects of abuse to elders can be long lasting. Some die or very injured. Have psychological problems(Elder Abuse). Can not be cared ford because of issues.They cannot have a normal life. It’s sad that people do this to
