For example, I remember gathering several children, with a car full of Christmas goodies to meet the needs of a family. As we arrived we unpacked the groceries and gifts, sang carols and went on our way. On the way home, my daughter ask, “Mom where will they eat their Christmas dinner?” Of course, I ask what she meant. “Well, she said, I noticed they didn’t have a stove or a microwave. How will they cook the turkey?” For me, this exemplifies providing a ministry for our “feel good” responsibility and not to the needs of those oppressed.
