The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian is a true story. This fact can be found out easily just by reading because the main character Junior has a life that a lot of people can relate to. Junior is a high school aged boy that is very intelligent, but he lives on a reservation that doesn't have much intelligence to fit his needs so junior decides to leave his reservation for better opportunities at another school. Without Juniors character in the book the book wouldn't be as hilarious and interesting because Juniors personality is extremely courageous, sensitive, and hormonal.

One example of Junior being courageous is when he punched Roger in the face even though he knew Roger was bigger and stronger them him. This character can also be described as being sensitive when he cries about what Rowdy said about him and Dawn. Finally, this character can also be considered hormonal when he talks about him watching Penelope play volleyball. In conclusion Junior has some things in common with boys his age and many boys his age can relate to
