The Galactic Republic vs The Confederacy of Independent Systems fight brutally, neither side able to edge out the other, suddenly The Galactic Republic's clone trooper army lead by the Jedi Order experienced a string of successes and managed to thrust the Sith’s Confederate droid army into the corners of the galaxy. But, the Sith lords had a trick up their sleeve, a fail safe of sorts. Commander Cody of the clone army receives a message, he looks down to see a glowing blue hologram of Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Anyway, Order 66 was the command that indicated the Jedis had betrayed the Galactic Republic, and were now traitors. This lead to the Clone Troopers killing all their former generals on sight, Darth Sidious became Emperor, and the Galactic Republic turned into the Galactic Empire.
But to be honest, none of that really matters. The real takeaway is that Darth Sidious specifically says “Order” 66. “ORDER” 66!, not “Chaos” 66, that wouldn’t make sense in any stretch of the word. Because Order is a command, it is there, palpable to all, with structure and integrity. Orders. Orders, bring a customer a new fork when he finds suspicious material on the orginal.
