Abso Lute Truth

Decent Essays
The bible makes it perfectly clear on how to find the path of salvation. All roaads don't lead to God, however, I do believe God can meet you on any road you ae on. Jesus said very plainly in John 14:6 " I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." (NIV). I think a lot of people try to interept the bible to fit their way of living. Some tend to believe they can work their way into heaven, even though the Bible tells us, that all our eighteous deeds are but filthy rags. People in todays world get caught up to mych in feelings and reasoning. The bible speaks for itself. Jesus Christ is the only true way to salvation. Abso lute truth is exclusivism. Some seem to think that God is this big soft teddy

In the House of the Lord, a man appears to be walking down the aisle to arrive at the pulpit to serve as the connoisseur of the Bible. He wears a long black trench coat and sets down his notes on the podium. He stares out onto his followers and beings reading in a monotone voice. Although people should be uninterested in this man, he captures their attention. He entrances his audience.…

In Augustine’s “On Free Choice of the Will”, Augustine states, “…Through whom God made all the things that were made from nothing” (4) meaning that God is the creator of all things. This makes evil an issue since if evil is a thing, and God has created all things, then it is safe to assume that God has created evil. This creates problems for those who believe that God is all loving and all powerful because if God is truly all loving, then why would he create malice for his beloved children. If God is truly good however, how could he possibly be capable to make evil exist? Augustine concludes that if God is truly perfect, then it is possible to believe that evil is not a thing at all, but simply just the absence of God’s good.…

Scot Mcknight speaks about how Western evangelicals have lost touch with the gospel. He says we’ve reduced the gospel to making a decision for Christ. Mcknight argues that it’s been reduced to a 4 point presentation that’s a surefire way to salvation. Telling people that “God loves them and has a wonderful plan for their life” is one of the most dangerous things you can tell someone. When you assure someone that they’re in God’s love when in reality they are an enemy of God and stand under his judgment, you give them false assurance and validation to live however they want to.…

The Bible is not a person, but it also has power in my discourse community. The reason it has authority is because it tells us what to do to become saved. It also gives us scriptures that we are supposed to live by. Overall, Jesus has the most authority in my discourse community because he can do what nobody else is capable of, and no one has a problem with it.…

Many people in the world today have decided that a world view does not matter; that everyone can simply believe what they would like to believe, and it would not make a difference. However, this is not true; a man’s worldview determines his every act! (Overman) Hitler for example, believed that Jews, disabled people, and elderly people were worthless; he thought that he could make a perfect world.…

Within most world religions, there is a section of believers that are classified as fundamentalists. Whether it is in Islam, Judaism, or Christianity, fundamentalism shares similar aspects. Fundamentalists stem from conservative cultures and take a defensive position to outside forces, while criticising those they view to be outsiders. Their distrust of society creates a separatist mentality that causes fundamentalist groups to withdraw from modern society. While fundamentalists of various religions share these traits, Christian fundamentalists also have their own unique beliefs.…

Biblical worldviews are indispensable, and need to be carefully and accurately cultivated in order to truly see the world through a biblical perspective. Paul warns of false views; “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:8 NASB) We must not let false philosophy, deception, tradition, or worldly things shape our views. Why should we not let these things influence us?…

Believing that God is good and merciful does not require the belief that God will bring everyone into heaven because all people may not enjoy heaven, entering heaven requires faith and the belief in God, and people have been given the choice of salvation. Heaven has a connotation of being personal as a customized place to the desires and pleasures of a person. However, this is not the case because heaven is meant for the pleasures of God by worshiping Him. According to the text of Sermon 1, heaven will be “an endless and uninterrupted worship of the Eternal Father, Son, and Spirit” and will not resemble the material world, but instead resemble “a church” (2). St. John describes heaven in Revelations as a place where “death…mourning and crying…

I believe Christians often operate under two misconceptions concerning evangelism and apologetics. First, they mistakenly believe apologetics and evangelism is a discipline only carried out by trained professional like pastors, seminary grads, or those who have studied in some apologetic program. But when we search the Scriptures, we see that both apologetics, defending the Faith, and evangelism, proclaiming the Gospel message, are disciplines all Christians must be prepared to carry out in their daily lives.…

Religion makes people do funny things. People tell other people how they should live according to a book written thousands of years in the past. They call this book The Bible, their saving grace, their holy grail. I never really understood religion to start with, so I would just nod and smile at pastors that told me about The Lord. Now I understand everything they were telling me about, and I'm glad to know that I'm saved.…
