Our Nation’s 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, is very well known for leading our developing nation through the civil war and abolishing slavery. That is not the whole story of Lincoln, not many know any of the other accomplishments. He shows time and time again his ability to persevere. The first real sign of his perseverance is from his childhood. During his childhood he did not go to school. He did not have books or paper, but he still did his best to educate himself. Another way that President Lincoln showed perseverance is being a lawer. He never went to law school. He taught himself law and passed the bar. Then he moved to Springfield and work hard and made a name for himself. Everyone knew him as “honest Abe”. Then he entered the world
