Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States of America (1861-1865). During this time the north (Union) and the south (Confederate) was fighting over slavery. As it progressed it caused a Civil War between two armies, the Union, which was lead by Ulysses S. Grant and the Confederate, lead by Robert E. Lee. After the war was over the 13th amendment was put in force by the government which abolished slavery. After that Lincoln gave his speech, The Gettysburg Address and then time was ticking down for his assassination.

Every American was furious and shocked as the went on a manhunt for Booth, he becomes the country's most wanted within a blink of an eye. Lafayette C. Baker, a former spy for the Union Army finds clues on finding Booth's location, while authorities track down his accomplices. The crazy hunt for Booth ends after a 12 day hunt after Lincolns assassination. The Union Army tracks him down to a small Virginia farm where they have a shoot out. John Wilkes Booth was 26 years old and killed on April 26th, 1865. Following that the first women was killed and executed by the U.S government, Mary Surratt.
After Lincoln was shot he was admittedly rushed to a house across the street from fords theater and laid on a bed for medical attention. The next morning at 7:22 a.m, about an hour after dawn, President Abraham Lincoln died. He became the first ever president to be assassinated or shot and killed. He was taken and buried on May 4, 1865, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Spring Field, Illinois.
I thought the book "Killing Lincoln" was a good book. It tells how he fought for his country to make everyone equal. I mainly liked this book because it tells about the Civil War and Presidential assassinations even though they aren't the best things to happen I still find them very interesting to learn
