Abraham Lincoln was our 16th president of the United States. Abraham Lincoln was an amusing president for what he did for our country. His life was not the funnest; he had a tough time. He did amazing things when he was in office.
He was born in a log cabin in Kentucky on February 12, 1809. Abraham Lincoln (Abe) was born into a poor family.His family had to struggle for a living. After a land title argument, they were forced to leave their home. Moving 8 miles North then their previous home.When Abe was only 9 years old, Nancy Hanks, his mother died. His father got remarried to Sarah Bush Johnson and she taught Abe how to read books. When he got older he was a stores clerk, boatman, surveyor, militia soldier, and helped working on his family's farm. He then studied law. He taught himself and passed a test to become a lawyer in Illinois.

It was a war between the United States and Native Americans. Black Hawk was the leader of the Native Americans. After that he was the Illinois Congressman for 8 years. He got married in the year of 1842 to Mary Todd at the age of 31. But in 1841 Abraham broke off the engagement. The next year they got back together and got married on November 4. It is said that they could have gotten together a year before in 1840 but kept it a secret. They had 4 boys even though only 1 of them was able to make it to adulthood.During their marriage, Abraham Lincoln watched Mary get a sickness and unusual behaviors, most likely the death of their 11-year-old son Willie devastated her in 1862. She also had a head injury from a carriage crash, complaining ever since of migraines and severe headaches. She also had major problems with depression and
