President Lincoln and his wife arrived late to the Play and the play stopped while Lincoln made his way to his box. Lincoln’s bodyguard was not there that night, so he had a different one and he was outside of the door. However, the guard realized he could not see the play so he left to find a better place to sit and at the intermission the guard left to have drinks at the saloon next door. Booth arrived at the theatre around 9 that night and went to the tavern next door to get a bottle of whiskey. While there, another customer told Booth that “he would never be the actor his father was.” Booth replied, “When I leave the stage, I will be the most famous man in America.” Booth arrived back at Ford’s Theatre around 10 that night. Booth quietly entered the box and put his gun behind Lincoln’s head and pulled the trigger. Major Rathbone began wrestling with the assassin and Booth stabbed him in the left arm, then Booth jumped 11 feet on to the stage below and broke his fibula. Then he flashed his knife to her audience and ran out the door. He hopped on his horse and escaped using the Navy Yard Bridge and met up with Herod and they went to Surratsville. As for Lincoln, Dr. Robert King Stone didn’t arrive until 11pm, and when he arrived there was nothing that he could do. Lincoln died at seven the next morning on April 15,
