In this lesson, I learn more about President Lincoln and the scandals that took place after his assassination. Abraham Lincoln, is the first president to ever be assassinated, prior to his death, most of his presidency revolved around the Civil War. During this time, Lincoln and Congress in 1862, allowed the Government to print paper money to try to make the states more unified. Another event was the Homestead Act, it allows free land to be given away in certain areas, people who took the offer, must stay at that location for at least five years. This is one of Lincoln's successes. Following Lincoln's death, Andrew Johnson took over office. Johnson is the first president to be impeached, he lacked what it took to be president. After Johnson
