Born on July 29, 1914, just one day after World War 1 began, Abraham Gamse was the son of a photographer named Joseph Gamse. At twelve-years-old, Abram's father changed their last names to Games. Abram was very close to his father and even worked at his father's photography studio while attending St Martins School of Art in the evening.
Abram Games started his career doing freelance graphic design, working at his father's studio and several magazines. Up to this point in his career, he was becoming more and more well known. He won first place in a design contest and had him and his work published in a magazine.
In 1939, World War 2 broke out in Europe and Abram Games was drafted into the British army, where he served as a private for two years.
