Being Pro-choice is the political and ethical view that a woman should have guaranteed reproductive rights and complete control over her fertility and the choice in whether she continues or decides to terminate a pregnancy, no matter what her reason. There is a reason that the 1 billion poorest people…
The social commentary on women’s reproductive health is full of contradictions. As our readings point out, even using pro-life vs. pro-choice rhetoric doesn’t really allow women their inherent rights to their bodies (RWL 53). Contradictions are present when pro-life advocates are in favor of the death penalty and not in favor abortion even when the mother’s life is at risk, implying one life more valuable than the other. Though many feel pro-life advocates are determining whose life is more valuable, it’s important to remember that they believe they are protecting the most innocent form of life. Pro-life advocates often feel like they are giving a voice to human beings that will never have the chance to defend themselves, never did anything…
On the opposing side, Pro Life, many believe that life begins at conception and terminating a pregnancy, no matter what stage, is murder. Those who believe in Pro Life believe that all human life, born or unborn, are due the same consideration and protection. Those in favor of Pro Life subscribe to the theory that abortions cause psychological damage to the mother. This can lead to long term mental health issues for the would-be mother.…
One side is known as “Pro-Life”, the other is known as “Pro-Choice”. “Pro-Life” supporters are typically conservatives who believe that abortion is wrong and should be illegal, some within the group even go as far as calling abortion the “murder of an innocent unborn child”. “Pro-Choice” supporters are typically liberals who argue that a pregnant individual has the right to choose abortion. They believe that it is the body, believe that abortion is not murder and cannot be illegal because they believe that a fetus is “not yet a fully developed living human being therefore it has no…
‘’It is just a blob of tissue, not a baby” (“Pro Life Vs Pro Choice: An Introduction to the Debate’’). Because most abortions are done with in the first trimester or slightly after, it is hard to consider it as killing a living, breathing human being. ‘’Personhood begins after a fetus is able to survive outside of the womb or after birth, not at conception’’ (“Should Abortion Be Legal?”). Out of the seven characteristics of life, five cannot be demonstrated by a fetus within the first trimester if it was to be removed from the womb of the mother. These characterizes of life are as follows: all living things grow, all living things reproduce, all living things have the ability to adapt to their environments, all living things use energy, and all living things have the ability to respond to different stimuli introduced into their environment (“The seven characteristics of life”).…
Pro-Choice or Pro-Life? One of today's most controversial topics is abortion. Although every person is entitled to their own opinion on the topic; there are only two ways to look at it. The two ways to view abortion are either pro-choice or pro-life. While some may view abortion as their choice because it's their body, others feel taking a life that has never had a chance to start; as wrong and murder.…
A theory about religion is that life starts at conception. People with other beliefs should not be forced to abide by this certain theory. Legal abortion today states that human life starts at birth, but when a baby is born, it grows and develops into a teenager, then a mature adult, until it finally becomes old and dies. Humans are made to develop and change, so a human becomes a human during conception.…
Those who support abortion, which are most known as “Pro-choice,” and those who don’t support abortion which are called “Pro-life.” Pro-choice people believe that women should make their own decision on their health and not the government or politicians. They believe that youths should have appropriate sex education programs and they support funding for abortions. They believe their is nothing wrong with abortion, and whatever they do to their body, should not be any one’s business. Pro-life people believe that abortion is unethical, and it 's immoral to kill another human being for they also have the right to live.…
The primary concerns of those who oppose abortion relies upon the fetus, whether it’s a human being, a person, from the moment of conception. The government should not prevent the killing of innocent people. One who opposes abortion and wants it to be illegal are considered as Pro-life. Those who support abortion, their primary concerns are that the Fetus will not be a human being, therefore to kill innocent humans will be morally acceptable. One who supports abortion are considered as Pro-choice.…
Abortion, a constant battle between “pro-life” and “pro-choice,” has carried over since the 1820s when the first set of abortion laws were established. Through court cases, the topic is has been debated and re looked at time and time again. Religion, different in every case, has also had an influence on some as to what ‘side’ they are on. The debate on when life begins has also played an impact as well as who has the right choose. Abortion is one of the most controversial topics inside the United States.…
People debate whether it is a pro-choice or pro-life decision. Everyone who is Pro-Choice believes that abortion is acceptable under any circumstances. Most argument vouch that “the right to a safe abortion should be considered a fundamental human right”. This builds on women’s right to life and health, basically stating they should do what they feel is right for their own bodies. The pro-choice camp states that banning abortion only forces it “underground”.…
The opinions of people usually fall into two groups; pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life advocates believe that abortion is murder. They feel strongly that terminating a pregnancy is terminating a life. Often time’s abortion is against a religion. At the point of conception a fetus is recognized by god, therefore terminating a pregnancy is a form of murder which disobeys many religions (AbortionProcon.org).…
Abortion has been a great topic of debate for many years, both in terms of law/rights and in morality/religion. The constant debate has split people into two sides: Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Those who are Pro-Choice believe that women have a right to decide the fate of their body, health, and life. They personally may not get an abortion, but they feel that it is still the right of the mother to choose. Abortion prevents unsafe pregnancies, protects women 's right to choose, liberates women from patriarchal control over women 's sexual and reproductive lives, and allows the mother to choose whether, when, and how often to have a child.…
Certain people may be pro-choice because they are not given the big picture about what is going to happen to the unborn baby, they may in fact have their innocence taken advantage of, simply because they were not fully informed. There are two main sides to this issue, and that is either the pro-choice side, or the pro-life side. Pro-life is the idea and belief that no matter what development stage a baby is in, it should be allowed to live, whereas pro-choice means that aborting a baby is alright for people to do. After examining the following evidence people may see that pro-life is a better option to pro-choice. The following articles will prove how some people choose to be pro-choice because they don’t even want to listen to the other side, and when morality is brought into the argument, pro-life seems to be the more appealing selection.…
Today, there are topics that are very uncomfortable and foreign to us like abortion. An abortion is when you take the lives of unborn babies that in a future can have a prosperous life. In 1973 was the year when the supreme court made abortion legal and while most celebrated this new decision, others opposed the change. Around 750,000 of girls between the ages of 14 to 20 years old get pregnant every year, and more than half of those girls have an abortion. 50% of teen mothers never graduate from high school.…
