“I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is 'Abortion ', because it is a war against the child... A direct killing of the innocent child, 'Murder ' by the mother herself... And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love... And we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts...” (Mother Teresa). It was during the 1820s that the united states started making abortion laws. These forbade women from getting an abortion after their first 4 months of their pregnancy. By 1900 most abortions had been outlawed in the united states. By 1965 all states banned abortion with the exceptions being to save the mother 's life, if the woman was raped or it was a case of incest, or if the fetus was deformed. In the supreme court hearing of Roe vs Wade in 1973, it stated that abortion laws were unconstitutional. this made it so that legislators can not interfere during the first trimester of a woman 's pregnancies but made limits to the restrictions that could be made on abortion in later stages. After this people were divided into two groups, pro-life and pro-choice. In 2004 president bush passed a laws saying that if a pregnant woman was killed, then the convicted will be charged with 2 murders.
