Abortion in Texas
Texas policies have now made it harder for women to have an abortion. According to the Texas Abortion Clinic Map on fundtexaschoice.org as of today “ten out of thirty six clinics remain open. The policy that closed the twenty six clinics is called HB2”. According to Section 245 of the Texas Health and Safety Code facilities are required to undergo major reconstruction and meet much higher standards that will cost a lot of money; these policies have resulted in the closure of majority of the Texas clinics because they are not considered Ambulatory Surgical Centers (What is HB2?). According to research from the American Journal of Public Health the average distance that

The Green Party of Texas is against women being forced into abortion, forced into sterilization, forced into taking contraception and forced into sexual intercourse (II.A.7).
According to the Texas Libertarian Party they believe that the government should not be able to provide, control, or require health care (II.2.A). The Libertarian Party believes that abortion is a sensitive matter and that the government should be kept out of the subject and that the decision should be left for each person to decide their stance on the issue. Although they believe the government should stay out of this affair they do not support state-funded abortions. They feel that it is not fair to force someone to pay for some one else’s abortion if that individual believes that abortion is murder. Utilization of prenatal testing, Caesarean births, fetal surgery, and home births should be a decision made by the woman because it is the woman’s right and the not the state’s right to concern themselves with those personal medical decisions (Personal Liberty 1.5).
The Republican Party of Texas believes that an …show more content…
The other three political groups focus on medical intelligence and fact based evidence which I myself believe is much more appropriate for the situation. I do not really align myself with any particular political group but I can undoubtedly say that I do not align with majority of the opinions held by the Republican Party of Texas. Mainly because I believe that majority of their platform violates the first amendment of the United States Constitution by enacting laws that enforce known religious dogmas. The platform for The Libertarian Party of Texas did not directly comment on their abortion beliefs I had to go a national Libertarian Party page and read their platform to gather more information on their beliefs about abortion. Although abortion is a delicate matter I do believe that their platform should discuss the issue because it is important to our state. Three of the four political parties were pro-choice and believed that a woman should be able to make her own health decisions without interference from the government. The main difference between the Texas Democratic Party, the Texas Green Party and the Texas Libertarian Party is whether or not they believe abortion should be funded by the

The Health and Human Services of Texas informed the organization of its decision via a letter. It expressed concern that the clinics were "liable, directly or by affiliation, for a series of serious Medicaid program violations."…

The Texas Democratic platform has "freedom of religion and personal conscience" (Texas Democrats) while the Republican platform deals with more of a religious approach "Human life, which is in the natural image of God" (Texas GOP). Both show they wish a limited government, except on how limited it should be. The Democrats believe that the government should not be in the private affairs of what the people do, while the Republicans believe government should be limited to the powers enumerated by the U.S. and Texas…

Planned Parenthood has been under scrutiny most recently in the past few years for their role in abortions in the United States. Planned Parenthood believes that a woman shouldn’t be judged by the government or anyone for the decisions that they make because a woman’s body is her own and she should have the decision of what she wants to do with it. This was the basis of the Supreme Court case: Roe v. Wade. “Jane Roe” argued the Texas stature that an abortion at any time during the pregnancy was illegal. The court ruled in her favor by saying that a woman has the right to get an abortion until the fetus has reached fetus viability.…

Democrats regard religion as scientific and non-organized, while Republicans are largely influenced by religion and tradition. For example, Republicans’ stance on abortion is based on religion and their belief that an unborn child has the right to live and cannot be taken away. Democrats support abortion and believe a woman has the right to make her own decisions. Another social difference is based on family upbringing. Liberals focus on a relationship built on respect and trust between a child and his parents to create potential of a fulfilled adult, whereas conservatives believe a relationship built on respect and fear will build character and a self-reliant adult.…

The political spectrum shows where political ideals fall in line amongst each other. From left to right the spectrum reads as follows: radical, liberal, moderate, conservative, reactionary. These labels each have a meaning in the way they reflect ideas about the government, especially its role in the economy and society. The left side of the spectrum (radical and liberal) supports more government involvement economically but less government involvement socially. To the right, conservatives and reactionaries prefer less government involvement in the economy and more government involvement in social issues.…
