The Cons Of Abortion

Great Essays
Abortion should not be allowed. Abortion is wrong in so many ways, but yet it is still being done in today’s world. Why should you kill an unborn child, when that unborn child could be born into the world? If the child is born, the child will have many options. The child will actually get to live, maybe placed in foster care, or even could be put up for adoption.
There are many cons/counter arguments to abortion. There are about eight cons to abortion that I have came up with. The eight cons, more like excuses for getting an abortion are: “I have no money”, “I was raped”, “Getting pregnant was an accident”, “My boyfriend will break up with me if I do not get an abortion”, “My mother is pressuring me to get an abortion”, “I cannot let my parents

If a teenage girl or any woman who becomes pregnant cannot hardly afford to take care of themselves, then how are they suppose to be able to take care of a newborn baby. It would basically be like a kid taking care of a kid. A part-time job will not be able to cut it because taking care of a baby takes a lot of money. A newborn baby is another human being that you have to feed, provide shelter for, and care for. That would make the teenage girl want to automatically get an abortion. Now for those teenagers who have wealthy parents who will help with their financial needs, then having a baby would not be a problem. For those though who are not that wealthy, this would be a reason why they would want to get an …show more content…
There are about three pros that I came up with. The three pros are: “The child gets to live”, “The child goes to foster care”, and “The child is put up for adoption”. I will be explaining each pro life pro in the below paragraphs.
The first pro is “The child gets to live”. Nothing saddens me more, than seeing the rate of abortions increasing. It hurts me and others around me to see that happening. Not having an abortion, will allow the child to live. The second pro is “The child goes to foster care”. Not having an abortion, will allow the child to be placed in foster care. Even though sometimes foster care seems like a bad place, it is better for the child to live there, than instead of dying. The third pro is “The child is put up for adoption”. Not having an abortion, will allow the child to be put up for adoption. This is the way better option for the child. If you do not want your child, I am sure a couple who is struggling to have children would love to have your child as their

A woman would not have to withstand a pregnancy brought on by a tragic event. A child would not have to suffer through a life with lower than standard qualities due to birth defects. Parents should have that power to decide what is best for their child’s welfare. Abortions decrease risk of overpopulation and serve as a way to control the abundance of children in foster care. With foster homes in unfavorable conditions it keeps those children from living that kind of harsh existence.…

There are many things in life that are thought to be good for some people, but bad for others. This is commonly known as the dissoi logoi, which is intended to help an individual gain a deeper understanding of an issue by forcing the person to consider it from the angle of their opponent. A great example that represents the dissoi logoi is abortion. Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own. This procedure can happen through medication or the fetus can be surgically removed.…

These self proclaimed “pro-lifers” often argue that putting the child up for adoption is a better alternative to abortion. They say, “it is reasonable for society to expect an adult to live temporarily with an inconvenience if the only alternative is killing a child.” (Thompson, 6). By this they mean because of the fact that pregnancy is not a permanent condition, the women should be expected to just endure it until the baby can be born and put into foster care. However, foster care has several issues and is not automatically a better option for the child.…

Abortion has been a great topic of debate for many years, both in terms of law/rights and in morality/religion. The constant debate has split people into two sides: Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Those who are Pro-Choice believe that women have a right to decide the fate of their body, health, and life. They personally may not get an abortion, but they feel that it is still the right of the mother to choose. Abortion prevents unsafe pregnancies, protects women 's right to choose, liberates women from patriarchal control over women 's sexual and reproductive lives, and allows the mother to choose whether, when, and how often to have a child.…

I.Introduction The topic of abortion is currently one of the most controversial issues. The 1973 supreme court ruling of Roe v. Wade allowed for women to legally obtain abortions throughout their entire pregnancy, however, conditions were put into place that allowed for states to regulate abortions during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. The right to have an abortion is protected under the constitution’s 14th amendment which protects the basic rights of citizens. This ruling has left our country divided in half by those who are for and against abortion. Those who oppose Roe v. Wade are referred to as pro-life and those in agreement are pro-choice.…

There has been a long existing debate of “Pro-Life” versus “Pro-Choice” about whether or not women should be able to abort a child. Many people being Pro-Choice will use the argument that the fetus isn 't a living person, and rather that it is the woman’s body; therefore the woman’s choice. There are other options women have such as adoption: waiting until the baby is born and providing the child a well-suited family to properly care for them. I believe any way you can avoid aborting a child is better than abortion because you give the child a chance for life. An unborn child in the womb contains all of the characteristics for it to be considered living, proving abortion is morally and scientifically wrong.…
