Abortion Should Be Made Legal

Decent Essays
Some people believe that abortion should be illegal, I strongly believe that abortion should be made legal in all 50 states. Simply because of the fact that women should be allowed to do with her body as she pleases. How would you feel if someone who didn’t even know the situation you were in, tell you “no” on a subject that affected you greatly? I believe women should have a choice in what they do with their body. How would you feel if someone told you "no", simply because they didn't agree with the topic? The decision to have an abortion is a tough thing for women to make. She doesn't need someone's who's life more than likely won't be affected by it, judging her for it.

An abortion is effectively a medical decision and it should be made between the mother and her doctor. A woman should not be forced to have a child, and it would make little sense for a woman to have a child when they may not be ready. Abortion has been a debatable topic for quite some years now; even though no one could ever seem to come to a consensus on whether it is wrong or right, good or bad; abortion was made legal on January 22, 1973. As a result, those who perform self-abortion will end up harming themselves. Although many are against abortion because they consider it evil/inhumane, it should be legal because the mother could have been raped, have a disabled fetus, or have an unwanted pregnancy.…
