Abortion is “when a pregnancy is ended so that the pregnancy doesn’t result in the birth of a child. It is also called termination of a pregnancy” (What is Abortion, BPAS) Abortion is a very controversial subject that has been debated on by congress and many other people for years. People who call themselves Pro-Life want abortion illegal. Meanwhile, Pro-Choicers take the opposing side and support abortion. Abortion should be illegal worldwide for three reasons; abortion is unethical, abortion is murder, and causes medical complications and trauma in women later in their lives.

Abortion should be illegal worldwide because it is unethical. In the Declaration of Independence it states “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL men have been created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are LIFE, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” (National Archives and Records Administration). In addition, 92% of abortions in the United States are performed on vigorous women to end the life of hardy children (Schwarzwalder, Rob). It is murder because an unborn child is alive. The first scientific proof that an unborn child is alive is that “a zygote contains human DNA” (Schwarzwalder, Rob). In addition, in Jeremiah 1:5 it says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you: I appointed you a prophet to the nations” (ESV Bible). If an unborn child is alive then it is considered murder to have an abort a child. Furthermore, the bible says it Matthew 5:21 it says “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgement” (ESV Bible).
