When pregnancy is forced upon the mother, she should have a choice rather to keep the child or not. Rape can cause psychological damage to the victim. Being constantly reminded of what happened could do extensive amounts of damage to the victim. Another case where abortion should be legal is if the mother’s life is in danger. In many late term pregnancies there have been reports of the mother’s life as risk due to complications caused from pregnancy. Abortion should only be used if it is the only way to save the life of the mother. Also if the child dies or cannot live outside of the womb you should have a choice rather to abort or not. It would be devastating to carry a dead child for nine months and have to deliver it dead. If a child dies while in the womb, then in this instance, abortion should be okay. In some pregnancies there have been complications where the child is not viable. The cause of this could be missing or defective organ systems. If a doctor confirms that the child will never reach personhood, an abortion could be a last resort. If medicines and/or surgeries can help the baby, then abortion should not be an option just because treatment will be an inconvenience for the mother. The murder of an unborn child should never be legal because it is an inconvenience for the mother. Rather than aborting, we should put them up for adoption for the millions who cannot have children. An abortion is effectively a medical decision and it should be made between the mother and her doctor. A woman should not be forced to have a child, and it would make little sense for a woman to have a child when they may not be ready. It would be unfair to not only the mother, but the child as well, the child may not receive the level of care that it deserves. Mothers may choose abortion because they are not prepared to have a child, it makes no sense for the mother to be forced into parenthood. After the child is born, the only people that will be there to support it would be its parents, and if the parents are not ready, there will be no way for the child receive the care it…

I agree with Marquis when he states that abortion is only not seriously wrong in unusual circumstances such as rape or if the baby has little to no chance at survival. Abortion is an important topic in today’s society because in 2016 people from younger age groups are ending up pregnant with no chance of taking care of the baby, this results in child abuse and neglect. It is very easy for me to oppose abortion because I am not in this decision making process, the answer always boils down to the mother and her decision making choices. If abortion is the only chance at a mothers survival then it should be excepted. Rarely do you find a women who has been raped and impregnated that keeps the baby and is actually happy with the choice of keeping the child.…

Abortion is a touchy issue. Many say it is okay, others are totally against it, and some think it’s acceptable, depending of the circumstances. In my opinion, it’s wrong and not at all necessary, unless in the case of pregnancy, the mother is informed she will perish during the pregnancy term. Science continues to say a fetus is only a small “lump of tissue” but it isn’t, it’s human, it is a life. We are taught, “You shall not murder,” yet there are about 100, 000 lives aborted yearly.…
