Abortions have been a huge debate since the 1900s, and it has recently been brought up by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, who is pro-life or someone who is against abortions. There are two types of abortions in America according to Planned Parenthood- nonprofit organization centered around helping woman that are pregnant or looking to start a family- there are “in-clinic abortions and the abortion pill”; either one is the killing of an innocent human and are the reason why Abortions should be illegal. A great question to ask when doing this topic is when should abortions be accepted and when should they be stopped from happening?

There are many doctors who have put this argument into a statement, saying “there is never a situation in law or in the ethical practice of medicine where a preborn child’s life if need be intentionally destroyed by procured abortion for the purpose of saving the life of the mother. A physician must do everything possible to save the lives of both his patient's, mother and child. he must never intend the death of either.” (Thompson 104). Basically the doctors have no right to automatically pick the mother's life over the other human involved. Direct abortion is when the mother has decided that abortion is the only option; it is the intentional killing of a baby. Indirect or the unintentional killing of a baby is when the doctor has to do something like remove a cancerous uterus from the pregnant woman. Indirect is justified under the “principle of double effect” (Thompson 105). In this situation the death of the pre-born child was an accident and is only caused because of an operation trying to save the mother. Alan Guttmacher, the former President of Planned Parenthood, which is according to the Free Dictionary by Farlex is an “organization that provides reproductive health care services.” Guttmacher made the statement that “Today it is possible for almost any patient to be brought through pregnancy alive, unless she suffers from a fatal disease such as cancer or leukemia, and if so, abortion would be unlikely to prolong, much less save the life of the mother.” (Thompson 105

Federal Government Should Outlaw Late-Term Abortion In 2013, reporter Sarah Terzo from Live Action News in Virginia indicated that late-term abortion clinic shoots babies through the heart with poison in order to kill them. This example is a good reason to why the federal government should be outlawing late-term abortion. No matter what situation the mother and fetus are in, every fetus should have the right to live a meaningful life. However, the federal government should outlaw abortion after the first trimester because many of the practices are inhumane, all fetuses should have the right to live, and the ways abortion can cause risks for the women. Some abortions are done in order to save the child’s life; such as they wouldn’t survive past birth or wouldn’t have a fulfilling life. A woman named Julie was twenty weeks pregnant when she had an ultrasound done to identify the sex of her child. The doctors discovered that the baby’s brain ventricles were doubled in size. This meant that if the baby was carried to term, it would be developed at about the amount a two month old fetus would be. She chose to terminate the pregnancy, rather than risk having a premature baby and having to watch it either die or live in a hospital for months…

Abortion has been a great topic of debate for many years, both in terms of law/rights and in morality/religion. The constant debate has split people into two sides: Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Those who are Pro-Choice believe that women have a right to decide the fate of their body, health, and life. They personally may not get an abortion, but they feel that it is still the right of the mother to choose. Abortion prevents unsafe pregnancies, protects women 's right to choose, liberates women from patriarchal control over women 's sexual and reproductive lives, and allows the mother to choose whether, when, and how often to have a child.…

This view finds abortion “impermissible even to save the mother’s life.” Imagine a woman has become pregnant and in the same day learns of a newly developed heart disease that will kill her if she carries her baby to term. The baby has a right to life, but so does the woman. Thomson brings up the argument most familiar.…

There are so many circumstantial situations, which should be acknowledged while making the choice whether one should proceed with terminating a pregnancy. Although it’s easy to make an opinion on how morally and ethically disgusting it is to murder just a child, there will never be proof that the fetus instead a woman’s body is a living being. Instead of judging these women for their choices, one should put themselves in their shoes and see just how much of an impact the choice of abortion or no abortion can make. All women deserve a second chance. It should be permitted to allow women to decide for themselves based on the impacts on themselves, their family and their unborn child, whether or not an abortion would be the best…
