Since everyone has the choice to do what they want with their bodies, then the mother should not get to choose life or death for the baby. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want with their bodies, but “The fetus, or unborn baby, is a distinct individual. Even though it resides in its mother, it is a separate entity genetically” (Johnson). The mother is taking away the choice for the baby which is taking away the baby’s rights. Women should not make decisions for the unborn fetus, especially without the baby’s consent, even if they can’t think on their own. Numerous people think an important moral right is to control their own bodies. If a woman is not allowed to abort an unwanted baby, then one of their moral rights are being violated. A woman should have the right on what she can and can’t do to her body, and the unborn baby is inside the woman’s body. The woman has the right to decide if the baby stays in her body; Therefore, a pregnant woman has the right to abort the baby. If the woman gets control on what happens to her body, then she has to take responsibility for those actions. Every unborn child should have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in the second and third trimester. In 2010, research shows that states indicated that unborn children are considered humans under tort, property and criminal law (Roden, 2010). By these laws shown, a mother shouldn’t get to choose whether the fetus lives or dies. The unborn child is its own person and by a mother aborting her own child should be considered murder. Under law a child is supposed to be born for many different reasons, including being capable of having a legacy (Roden, 2010).…

The mother that is carrying the child still has rights to autonomy and control over herself. Yet, the fetus also has the right to life and right to life without harm. Minkoff and Paltrow states, “In so doing, they suggest a need to balance rights when those rights appear to conflict with each other, a potentially to subordinate the rights of the women to those of the fetus” (Minkoff and Paltrow, p. 757). Minkoff and Paltrow suggest that unborn children have rights and pregnant women have value.…

That is the time of the choice”, and the same goes for the man (Roe v. Wade, Floyd). A person should not be denied the right to live just because they will not be taken care of due to their own parent’s unwillingness to do so. If a parent truly loves their child, they will give that child’s happiness, even if they have to suffer a little themselves. When it comes to the mother’s health, then it can be the joint choice of both parents, a certified physician, and possibly immediate family as to if the child should be given a chance to live.…

Why should a baby not have the chance to live simply because of the poor choices of its mother? Abortion is not a good thing and should not be tolerated. Taking the life of an innocent human being should never be accepted like it is. In the article, “This Is What Abortion Looks Like,” the author's main point is how abortion is a topic that not many people talk about and think is bad but, Wendy Davis, a Texas senator talked about it in public.…

As the foetus is growing within them, and is nourishing itself from then, they have the right to remove said foetus at any point lest their bodily autonomy be denied. Having identified the argument, I wish to discuss whether the argument is good or bad. To do this I need to ask myself whether the conclusion – that is, that denying women the right to an abortion denies them bodily autonomy – is morally sound. Firstly, it’s worth examining the concept of bodily autonomy and deciding if the…

More often than not, abortion is the result of pregnancy due to rape, or the inability to support a child for any variety of reasons. Although many see it as the termination of a life, abortion needs to be an option to save the lives of women who are not able to support a child. While opposing viewers might say that abortion terminates a potential life and is dangerous, it is actually saving the life of a woman who wouldn’t be able…

Hillary Clinton, a Democratic candidate, thinks that abortion in this country should remain legal. Even though it might be true that by aborting their babies, mothers, especially those in the lower classes, can avoid the financial burden, I believe that the post-abortion psychological effects will bring more harms. Although my stand on this issue is totally different from Clinton’s, her effort in encouraging adoptions is truly appreciated. Instead of killing the innocent lives, pregnant mothers may give birth to their children and let other people to adopt and raise their little ones. As can be seen, it is possible to reduce abortion rates if more women are aware of the other alternatives for unplanned…

Pro-life advocates tend to think that if abortion were illegal, there would be not more abortions. They, however, are false. If abortion were to be illegal, there would still be many abortions performed; they would be unsafe procedures performed by non-physicians who may botch the procedure, by the pregnant mothers themselves or by “back-alley butchers” (“Misconceptions About Abortion”). Modern abortion procedures are safe and sanitary. Access to legalized, professionally performed abortions reduces the risk of injury or death.…
