Essay On Abortion Oral Speech

Oral speech- should abortion be illegal in all states of Australia
Taken away because of the fear of responsibility,
Taken away and denied opportunity
Taken away so I could not be.
Oh, mama, didn 't you love me?

Taken away after a life so short,
Taken away and pushed to abort
Taken away so I could not be.
Oh, mama, didn 't you love me?
Couldn 't you see that I too, had the same right to opportunity?

I began to grow inside you,
I know you were scared,
But mama,
I was too.

Taken away because of your fear of society,
Taken away because it was against your sense of propriety
Taken away so I could not be.
Oh, mama, didn 't you love me?

Taken away and denied my life,
Taken away in such a strife
Taken away so I could not be.
Oh, mama, didn 't

The problem was, it didn’t pan out like the doctors assured her it would. She was supposed to bleed for two weeks and be done with it, but she ended up bleeding profusely for three months before she caved and went to the hospital, desperately hoping her husband wouldn’t discover what she had done. It is hard to point out good things about a topic that is frowned upon by millions of people but there is always something good in a bad issue. The way people view abortion whether good or bad is not when it is decided but how it is decided. Abortions can be forced upon in a medical emergency. Women sometimes have to have an abortion because of their health, the baby’s health, or both. Now if the doctors decide to say it is dying that can be swayed.…

There are many reasons why people are for abortion. For example, a girl got raped and she did not want to carry the child so she got an abortion. Or for instance, the girl was too young to have a child so she felt as if she was not responsible enough to raise the child so then she got an abortion. Such as Maureen Shaw, Pro-Choice advocate said “As a woman and a pro-choice advocate, I’ve always respected a person’s decision to seek abortion care. But it wasn’t until I became a mother that I really understood their decision.…

An additional point linked to the Pro-Life side is laws cannot be made on exception cases. Which means, each time someone brings up a case where someone was raped or it is a serious health condition, people cannot base a whole law off that one exception because those types of cases are not the normal ones. It is sad that those things happen but you cannot let a few of those cases make abortion legal for everybody, it is not a good enough reason (“The Best Pro-Life Arguments”). The final point for the Pro-Life side is: abortion is mentally harmful. Most people don’t know that the suicide rate for women who have had abortions is much higher opposed to those who haven’t had an abortion.…

(Lowen) I would argue that it’s risky either way. An abortion can prevent the mother from dying from those complications. Many pro-life people say there are a lot of women who have had a pregnancy and regret it. What if the mother didn’t have an abortion and regret that also? There’s always two sides to it.…

“I didn’t regret the abortion for 20 years. But eventually I did and I still regret it now. I wish I’d kept the baby, whatever the cost. It’s hard to live with” (Andrusko 1). However, many people that are desperate for abortions risk an immoral act of committing an unsafe abortion. Likewise, “approximately 68,000 women die...of unsafe abortion and between two million and seven million women each year survived unsafe abortion but sustained disabilities” (Theodore). The fact that women either die or endure disability suggests that the law should be overturned due to the fact that women are highly affected and deprived of their future because of abortion. Not to mention that abortion can also affect women mentally because of the realization that they had done an immoral act. According to Susan B. Anthony’s newspaper, it states that women who commits abortion will be guilty and will carry the burden with them in death (Foster).…

To help prevent this public schools should teach everything that they can about sex to help educate these teens. Hopefully in time the teenage pregnancy rate will go down. In fact the gap in teen pregnancy between the United States and other developed countries is quite drastic, because of this the United States as has a goal to hit 4.3 percent of teens to have a child between the ages of thirteen to nineteen. (Teen)Though right now this does not seem possible, but with the correct sexual education it is…

It is inhumane to abort a fetus that passes the first trimester, the fetus starts to develop its organs and nerves, the mother will have great loss and can lead to emotional problems, abortion can lead to long term health effects for the women. Abortion is legal in the U.S. since, the case of 1973 of Roe vs. Wade. Roe won the trial to legalize abortion since it falls under the fourteenth amendment of womens rights. Abortion is morally wrong and inhumane to kill any child because the mother is not able to support it or even not having the burden of a child. The act of abortion should not have been legalized, since it is a murder of an innocent child who did not have a choice to come into the world.…

If the abortion isn’t done correctly then the woman could die from too much bleeding, infection, or later on during any future pregnancies. Most deaths caused by an abortion aren’t reported as such because they don’t want to get into trouble or for any other reasons. The risk of death increases more and more each time the woman gets another abortion. Abortions can also cause pre-term delivery or it can cause the delivery to be delayed causing problems for the mother and baby. By knowing all these risks that are involved with abortions I think it would just be a good idea to carry full term and then give the child up for adoption.…
