Abortion Term Paper In every topic there is always two different sides which are the pros and the cons, one group is for it and one group is not. Abortion is a heavy topic that many people have an opinion about. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most likely in the first twenty one weeks, which some people do not abide by and sometimes is after the said time. I feel that there is no right or wrong way to feel about it because everyone is different and has been through different things and situations to make them feel the way that they do pertaining to abortion. Marquis also feels that everyone’s life has the same great value, so who are we to rob someone of theirs? He feels that killing a fetus deprives them of what they would value, or could value if given the chance. He also feels that above all it is seriously wrong to kill infants or kids. He does come to the conclusion also agreeing with Thomson that if a woman is raped than the abortion is permissible. Marquis believes: “All humans, whatever their race, gender, religion or age, have the right to life” (Marquis). This quote means that he is not biased in any way and a fetus is a baby, infant it has a said “age”. His purpose for exceptions are to get rid of the instances where abortions will be immorally okay. He also acknowledges that people that are pro-abortion, don’t acknowledge fetuses as having the means for communication, fetuses just being things and not people. And by looking at them as things, it makes it easier to be pro-abortion, because they aren’t considered people to you.
