My claim, that abortion is murder balances individual rights because not only will women suffer the consequences, men should as well. These people believe that “the choice over when and whether to have children is central to a woman's independence and ability to determine her future.” (Should Abortion Be Legal?) These individuals do not think the action is murder but rather a personal decision that is rightfully theirs. To them “embryos and fetuses are not independent, self-determining beings, and abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, not a baby.” (Should Abortion Be Legal?) Unfortunately little do these people know the process of abortion. After the paperwork and other medical checks “a small suction tube is placed in your cervix and the pregnancy is sucked out.” (Natasha Preskey n.p.) Although these are only fetuses and are not fully developed, the fetuses still feel all the pain of slowly dieing as any other fully developed human would. ( Natasha Preskey n.p.) This is torture, which strictly goes against the 8th Amendment for cruel and unusual punishment clearly making the action
