There are all kinds of problems that can occur when a woman chooses to have this procedure done. No matter what research needs to be done and doctors need to be educated. If abortion is going to be legal there should be very high standards for the doctors who perform them. Also, if there ever comes a time when abortion is illegal I would hope women are not forced to go to unsafe places out of desperation. This is a complex decision for any woman. There is not a part of me that believes a woman can make this decision easily and without any regret.
