The 14th amendments is an amendment that is designed to protect the rights of all citizens of the United States. The court interpreted in such a way that stated it would infringe on the rights of the citizens for the government to prohibit them to make decisions involving health and well-being. The 14th amendment does not give mothers the right to abort a child, but rather it gives the child a right to be protected by law because it was made to make sure the rights of the people are not infringed upon by the government. "Since the Supreme Court's sweeping Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973 overturned hundreds of laws in the states across the country, more than 55 million unborn children have lost their lives to abortion - about 1/3 of the millennial generation." According to a study done by The Choices Pregnancy Center, 35% of unintended pregnancies in teens across America end in abortions. (Jones, 2008) Nearly all teen pregnancies are unintended. It is morally wrong to kill a human baby no matter the circumstances. "18% of all U.S. abortions are from teenagers."(Jones, 2008) Unprotected sex is the leading cause of unwanted pregnancies. It is extremely irresponsible to have unprotected sex outside of marriage. American society has been leaning away from biblical principles and the practice of strong morals more and more in resident history. Premarital sex is widely accept throughout modern society. Young people, more often than not, are participating in sex before they become adults. "Seven out of 10 teenagers have engaged in sexual intercourse before their 19th birthday."(Jones, 2008) Abortion should be frowned upon in normal society. The nation should hate the murder of innocent children rather than have the government endorse it through
