For most of the past 50 years, the United States has been divided on the issue of abortions. The fundamental basis for this argument centers on the issue of whether a fetus is a human life or not. This implies that abortion could be considered as murder if it is viewed as a human lifeform. On the other side, some people hold the view that the human fetus is within another human being who must take care of it when it is born so that individual has the right to take a decision. In my opinion, abortion is in unhuman act.
In my opinion, the human life is in stages. Conception is the first stage and there is the need to ensure that people in richer and more advanced nations can conceive and bring children in the world. Religion has always sought to support family life.
Per the statistics, a minimum of 750,000 abortions were performed each year on the average in the United States between 2008 and 2012 (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention). Over two-thirds of these abortions were done by people who were unmarried. This shows that the United States is digressing significantly and our love for family values are in crisis now.
This implies that religiously, we might not be living according to the standards set by our founding fathers who required to preserve family values as a central aspect of the pursuit of happiness. This means we need to review our lives and examine what is best for us and work on it.
