Abortion Essay
In this essay I will try and give my point on whether if abortion is easily available does it mean irresponsible behaviour, for people in the UK giving arguments for and against abortion. I will also mention if I think irresponsible sexual behaviour has anything to do with how easily available abortion is to get, or if it has something to do with our society and how people view abortions as a easy option to get out of child birth.
I think abortion is easily available because all you have to do is, visit your GP or a contraception clinic, then they can pass you to the NHS abortion services and discuss your options with you. The average age for women who has a abortion are between the ages of 18 and 29. In 2011, women aged 20-24 had 55,909 abortions and the highest abortion rate 30 per 1,000 women. There were 42,321 abortions to women aged 25-29 abortion rate was 23 per 1000 women and 33,923 to women aged 15-19, the abortion rate was 20 per 1,000 women. Although abortions are largely concentrated in the middle of the reproductive life-span aged 15 to 44, a small number of women at both ends of this scale requires an abortion. In 2011, there were 1,000 abortions to girls under the age of 15, and 660 abortions to women between the ages of 45 and 49. There were 23 abortions to women aged 50 and over. Which could make influential people want to try sex without understanding all of the facts and the risks like a unplanned pregnancy, which could result in an abortion. The media also plays a role in a a ever growing plot of who to blame because the front pages of the newspapers tends to be about sex scandals or stories like the historical sex abuse allegations like the one with the MP's that was in the newspaper for weeks. This might encourage people to have sex as it is getting so much publicity and it's such a talked about subject young people with no experience might what to have sex just to say they've had it and to fit
