The obligation of a legal rule may be insufficient for our society. Laws and guidelines are put in place by the government to set the least ethics for responsible behavior (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2015). Legal rules have consequences associated with them that are enforced by government authority. Ethical violations are enforced by the group. Both have consequences, but the outcomes are very different. Abortions are illegal according to society. On the other hand, it’s a woman’s prerogative what she does with her body. This is being debated whether an abortion is a legal issue or an ethical issue (Daniels, Ferguson, Howard, & Roberti, 2016).
