I decided to read more in depth to part one, about people have their own right to choose whether or not they want to keep their baby. Grey mentioned how the court stated that this is not an absolute right.
So after reading about the court I decided to further my research to abortion and absolute rights. Looking at abortion from a political standpoint in Canada I was able to find an article The Politics of Abortion (Brodie 1992). It mentioned how the process of making abortion legal was a bitter debate. There was a lot of tension between the liberal and conservative governments, which are both have two completely different views on and sit opposite on the left and right scale. This reminded me about what we learned in class about the liberal and conservative views. Liberal were very free spirited and open to change. Conservatives had many values, hold on to tradition and do not prefer change. I decided to look back at my textbook Pearson Custom Sociology (Macionis, Gerber 2016).
