Death Penalty Pros

The Death Penalty I believe that the death penalty is a necessary action in the criminal justice system. I know that there are so drawbacks to the death penalty. For example, sometimes the offender is wrongly accused of a crime and is sent to death row, this is also true for life in prison. If someone is wrongly accused of a crime and is sent to prison or death row it is very likely that it would not be caught until years down the road. This has happened before in the criminal justice system. I am a kind of person that believes that no one deserves to die but if a person takes an innocents life I do believe that they deserve to suffer. I do not think it is right to take another person’s life! Honestly, I think that the death penalty is kind of the easy way out for some criminals because really who wants to spend the rest of their life in prison? Some criminals end up regretting what they did but others do not even begin to feel sorry for what they did. …show more content…
There are many pros and cons to the death penalty and this chapter helped to open my eyes to them. Some pros to the death penalty are, it would help put an end to many crimes and the victims would not have to worry about their offender getting out of prison and coming after them. Life in prison is less feared than the death penalty because honestly everyone is somewhat scared of death. Some cons to the death penalty are, do the offenders really deserve to die? This is a very common asked question when it comes to the death penalty. Other cons to the death penalty are, there is not really any evidence that the death penalty deters crimes, and the “offender” that is sent to the death penalty might be wrongly accused so then the system as killed an innocent.
