Abolish the Death Penalty Now!

The death penalty is one of the most controversial topics in today society. I read an article called "abolish the death penalty now!" Written by Kiana Bayron. It was a very well written article but I did have some disagreements with it. I believe the death penalty does not need to be done away with but needs to be updated in the way it is carried out and distributed. There are several flaws in our criminal justice system that needs to be fixed and this is one of them. I believe the system need to be rework and brought up to date 49% of the 194 United Nations members have abolish the death penalty. The vast majority of countries in Western Europe, North America and South America, more than 117 nations worldwide, have abandoned capital punishment in law or in practice. The United States remains in the same company as Iraq, Iran and China as one of the major advocates and users of capital punishment. But why is that because there 's no crime or is the country too small to even worry about putting someone to death. How did that 49% the United States was still fifth
