Review of the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory – III (MCMI-iii) The MCMI-iii is an assessment instrument utilized for measurement of clinical mental health and personality disorders (Grove & Vrieze, 2009). The MCM-iii, states Grove & Vrieze (2009), acquires a base rate score (BR score) and targets the area of differential diagnosis among other patients with correlating psychopathology. The scales used in the outcome of the test are highly relevant to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Therefore, the MCMI-iii is used to assist counselors and therapists in making a psychological diagnosis. The inventory consists of 175 true or false questions and roughly takes the client 30 minutes to complete (Framingham, 2016). The base score is the raw score yields 29 scales, 5 of which are used to assess how the individual accepted the test and 24 of which where clinical and personality scales Framingham (2016) inferred.
