While most people have maybe herpes at worst to deal with, Vlad’s problems are different from the average 8th graders. His dad was half vampire, but his mom was a totally normal human. Unluckily for him this means he’s inherited his father’s vampire traits. The setting of this book is settled a around Vlad’s school, and his “Aunt” Nelly’s home (she’s really his mom’s best friend). Due largely to the fact that his parents have recently died in a tragic accident leaving him to deal with added grief as well as his abnormal issues.
