Throughout the Salem Witch Trials Abigail was only worried about one thing, and it was herself. In Act 1 Abigail, Tituba and the other girls had gone out into the woods and danced around a fire. Some of the girls had casted some non harmful spells but Abigail casted a spell that was to supposed to kill Elizabeth so that she could be John. When everything started going on about the trials Abigail did not care if other people got in trouble, she just did not want to get caught. Abigail says to the girls, ¨I have seen some reddish work done at night, and I can make you wish you had never seen the sun go down!” That quote explains how selfish she really is. She is threatening the girls that if they say anything about her then she will basically hurt them. She scares people into thinking that she will do something to them just so that they will not rat her out. It shows that her selfishness goes along way since she does a lot that she should get in trouble for. Abigail used selfishness for the wrong reasons. Abigail had a lot of behavioral problems at times. She would act very rude to people that she did not like and especially towards Elizabeth. Abigail had a lot of motivation within the story. Throughout it all, she only wanted John. Her only motivation was to get Elizabeth to be gone so that her and John could be together. The last point was selfishness.
