Henry speaks on the importance of our freedom as well as the importance of the fight they're about to embark on. This speech was a result of the king's poor leadership within the war efforts. In the declaration of independence, Jefferson addresses the kings issues as follows. “the history of the present king of Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having, in direct object, the establishment of absolute tyranny over these states.” (Jefferson 238).
