Abercrombie And Fitch

Decent Essays
Abercrombie & Fitch clothing, including Hollister Co., dominates the majority of public high school halls. I too have been seen wearing Hollister Co.’s dark wash, boot cut jeans. The Abercrombie & Fitch brands were not always marketed towards American-styled teens. In 1892, David Abercrombie and Ezra Fitch founded Abercrombie & Fitch as a sporting goods retail store. Years later, Abercrombie & Fitch were bought by Oshman’s, due to bankruptcy. The Limited then purchased the label in 1988. It wasn’t until 1999 when Abercrombie & Fitch became a separate company (Farfan). Since 1992, Abercrombie & Fitch has reimagined its label and eventually became the brand that we all know today. They have also been fairly prominent in the retail business.

During the times of civil war all clothes were mainly custom made and designed “by tailors, by individuals, or by their family members at home.” After a bit of time during the war, companies began to create workshops that would resourcefully solve the inflating weights of the army. During the creation they began to take the solders measurements which “revealed that certain sets of measurements tended to recur with predictable regularity”; in paragraph 1. Churchill had accepted a symposium in New York at Hamilton College, but a negative response from the article led to the symposium’s cancellation (Andrzejczyk, “The Limits” 111). Missing Data: Based on the limited information provided, it is unknown if there’s any relation among the sales of the three major product lines for the ABC department store. For example, does a customer that frequents the store with the intention of purchasing clothes also purchase sporting goods because of the purchase of clothes? The synergy effects among three products in our company (clothing, sporting goods, & hardware) via manufacturing, marketing, and management, help realize the maximum profit. Dropping the clothing line might inhibit overall profit, especially if dropping the clothing line damages customer relations. One potential negative result is the decrease in profit for the other two products[2].…

Long hours of constantly standing and running up and down the store addressing customers and trying to keep the store presentable is certainly not a job I would settle for. Retail is a job for students that come and go, that are trying to make extra money for themselves, but not for somebody who is already of age, has a family to maintain, and bills to pay. Many people settle for less and are so used to being in a certain place doing the same thing every day that they fear change and do not want to seek better opportunities. I have worked in retail for only two years, my first year at a store called Hollister. My experience there was that I only saw young teens working, most of them being so irresponsible.…
