In Ruthless by Carolyn Adams, the novel follows the main character named Ruth, a victim of abduction. The first theme in Ruthless was, never give up. This had been a theme because Ruth could have just abandoned all hope and let the kidnapper, Wolfman, kill her, but she didn't. Futhermore, she persisted on, doing whatever she could to survive, even if that meant killing Wolfman. The second theme in the book was, hard work always pays off.
