Introduction In this paper, I have two main objectives which are providing an overview of the academic year 2007-2008 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and also detailing a specific event that occurred during this year. I will begin by explaining some of the events that took place. These include: UNC being gifted $5 million to carry out research on natural disasters, the Morrison dorm being renovated, and gospel vocalist Al Green performing at the Carolina Performing Arts’ season opener. However, in this paper, I will be discussing the kidnapping and murder of UNC student body president Eve Carson and arguing why this event was the most important of the year.…

Andrew Jackson was known throughout his presidency and modern day as a down to earth person who listened to the grievances of the common man because he defied the elitist norms in the White House and trusted the word of a common man over the word of his ineffective advisors, however, his opponents claimed that he acted more like a king than a president because he disregarded the democratic process and opted to instead put friends of his into positions of power. One trait of Jackson that was adored by the common folk of America was that he stuck with his roots, even if it was contradictory to the elite norms that were in place. After his acceptance speech, which was attended by thousands of common people, he invited everybody in attendance…

Thank you for considering The University of North Florida as your home for the next four years. The admissions team is very displeased to inform you that there will not be room here for you at our college. After reviewing your essay and application we were all very entertained but doubtful we would ever be able to meet you. My favorite part of your application had to be when you explained why you didn’t do very well in your Spanish three class, “I got a C- in Spanish because yo no hablo espanol.” All of us who read your application got a kick out of that.…

To whom it may concern: This letter is to request my reinstatement to University of Maryland University College. My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me.…
