As a teaching assistant, I would like to have an interactive classroom, whether that interaction is between lecturer and the students, or between the students themselves. The School Counselor, as a Systems Change Agent must align principles of the school counseling program to work for the success of the academic mission of the school. Academic, career, and personal-social development for all students is the driving goal of the comprehensive and fully implemented counseling program and the counselor. However, I would emphasize that closing the achievement gap is a fundamental to practical and beneficial systems change. In 2008, the Hunt Institute for Educational Leadership and the National Governors Association organized a meeting to discuss new education standards for the United States (Common Core Timeline). From that conference came the idea of the Common Core State Standards Initiative, often shortened to “Common Core.” About one year later, the United States officially adopted the education guidelines (Common Core Timeline). Last sunday, I worked in Westfield Mall food court at San Francisco as a cashier, our goal that day was to sell our food more than $20 per customer. We should recommend our expensive food but they would satisfied. During in the afternoon, there was a student asked which one was the cheapest but good in our menu, I was going to say that those were not enough for him, and he could just buy the expensive ones instead. Our manager told us that, we should recommend the $20 combo per meal to all customers do not let them buy the $10 clam chowder by itself. I mean, $10 of chowder is enough for one customer…
In this summary, I am going to talk about the difference between Maths in the Montessori Method. Although the children who attend Montessori preschools have had numerous years working on the concepts of numbers, heights, weights and much more, the children do not begin working with the maths material from the Montessori curriculum straight away. Instead, each child is prepared indirectly for the use of the Maths way of thinking through the Montessori Area of both Sensorial and Practical Life work. This helps each child to develop the essential abilities needed for the higher level maths which they will learn in the 6 to 9 environment.
