ABC Inc. had a new recruiter named Carl Robins who had only been on the job for six months, yet in that short amount of time he had already recruited several potential new employees, and were getting them ready for orientation. Of the new hires, 15 were trainees brought in to work in Operations for Operations Supervisor Monica Carrolls. In order to facilitate ABC's on boarding process, and get these new recruits ready to work for ABC, Carl was to facilitate all new hire applications, and plan a new hire orientation prior to July.
Carl had notified the new hires and the Operations Supervisor that training would take place on June, and a potential work start date for all new hires would be around July 1. As the end of May rolled …show more content…
Carl could set up a meeting room in a local hotel due to the training rooms being booked, or ask the computer trainer to reschedule his training event in order to free up the meeting room.
Proposed Solutions Reschedule the training for a later date, thus allowing more time to complete all of the necessary details for the important orientation training.
Conclusion
Carl had allowed too much time to elapse prior to noticing the detail of the training for new hires was incomplete. He had literally two months to build a new training manual, complete the applications, facilitate drug testing and schedule a meeting room. He waited until two weeks prior to the scheduled training, before becoming aware of the magnitude of the problems.
In my opinion, ABC Inc. will be better served by moving the scheduled training back by two to three weeks to facilitate the necessary preparation. This move will lose time planned for operations, yet will insure a fully trained and prepared staff following the adjusted date of orientation.
