Abandoned Shelter Short Story

Decent Essays
We walked along the empty path that led to an abandoned shelter. I walked into the shelter with no one by my side. It was to dark; I could barely see anything, and it was broad daylight outside. It looked like nobody has been in here for ages. I ran my hand along the dusty counter that hasn't been touched in what looks like years. I felt a sharp pain pierced through my hand; I looked down to see the blood dripping onto my shoe, and I saw the nail innocently sitting there in my hand. I immediately removed it from my hand, and regretted coming here. The blood quickly crept down my fingers as I made my way to the door before I felt another searing in my back.

That’s all that it took, those six words that came from my parent's mouths made me freeze on the spot, my blood filled with lead making it impossible to move.
