The financial crisis of 2007–2010 has resulted in a number of pets abandoned for economic reasons. Typical of this group are pets left behind when the owner's home is foreclosed. Stray animals are homeless, hungry. They come into the city in search of food and shelter. Kindness and compassion go a long way generally, if you don’t bother them, they won’t bother us. Millions of stray dogs live on the streets of India. Most are direct descendants of their feral canine ancestors, a "breed" much older than any AKC breed. With the recent increase in popularity among Indians of full breed dogs, more and more street dogs are abandoned pets or have bred with pet breeds. We are beginning to see an increasing number of stray dogs and cats as many of our countrymen are not interested of keeping pets. It is all the more painful to see children teasing these poor animals and making their pathetic lives all the more miserable. Millions of them died in car accidents, many died from hunger and many died due to natural hazards such as rainfall, cold climate etc but we never feel pain of those homeless souls. If we talk about Pakistan, it contains a large number of homeless animals. We often find some animals dead on highways and roads and they all are dead due to their miserable conditions. People leave their cats on roads so that they won’t return to their houses. Children used to throw stones at dogs or cats that are passing by, we never allow them to live in our houses, we never give them shelter and we are very much responsible for what they are going
