In the song “ADHD” he states “We never do listen unless it comes with an 808, a melody , and some soul.” He refrence music to be the main source of helping people connect and relate to each other. Another reason why this album is labeled one of the greatest projects because Kendrick went with what was on his heart during the time making it. The song “Ronald Reagan Era” is a great example of freedom of speech and courage to speak on what’s going on around you. The track speaks on Compton gang violence, the millennials born in the 80’s era best known as “The Ronald Reagan Era” doing outrageous things to survive in the city of Compton. The album gets very intense when it travels down to the song “Kush & Corinthians” . The title is self explanatory, but in this record he gives a great message, on living your own life and making the right decisions.
