Aaron's love of sports started when he was very young. As a child, he would throw around a football with his father and two brothers. His father taught him not to do things like drinking that would limit them in sports, and Rodgers took this to heart. In middle school, Rodgers played shortstop, center field, and pitcher for Raleigh Hills Little League baseball. Rodgers went to a junior college for one year, then went to University of California Berkeley, where he played for the California Golden Bears from 2003 to 2004. Because of his great scholastic record in high school, he was eligible for transfer after one year instead of two. Rodgers was named the starting quarterback in only his fifth game of the season, and was named game MVP for the 2003 insight bowl. In the 2003 season, he tied the school's record for the season for 300 yard games with 5, and broke the school's record for the lowest percentage of passes being intercepted, with only 1.43%. After his 2004 season, he decided to drop out and enter the 2005 NFL
