Through the stories of Aang and Sam, humanity is shown in its most true form, through the vulnerability of both characters but also through the strength that they summon in order to accept nature and their destinies. The road of trials for Sam Winchester and Aang involve an abundance of violent battles, many of which result in casualties. However, their journeys are worth the losses because they are fighting against evil forces that have taken the lives of their loved ones as well as many other innocent citizens. Through both of their journeys, they are showing that fighting for what is right, though it may seem easier to run away, is important in a hero’s journey. They undergo multiple transformations, each time becoming stronger in the image of a true hero.
