a) I do not think that it is a good idea or is necessary for him, because he is not doing any type of intense activity it is vigorous activity. Basketball is the only physical activity he is doing. His plays only three times a week therefore, he just needs to focus on a nutritious calorie-controlled diet which follows eating patterns which is recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Also, need needs to have proper hydration in order to meet his needs.
